Currently,
two breakers (#1 and #2) control the stove (40 amp) which has two hot wires
and one ground copper.
breaker #3, 20 amp, supposedly for microwave use
breaker #4, 20 amp, supposedly for two other recep in kitchen and kitchen
island receps.
Right now all four breakers (#1- #4) use the same neutral, looks like 10
gauge wire.
breaker #1 and #2 bangled together whereas #3 and #4 are not linked together
at the panel.
breaker #5 for fridge and two other receps in kitchen
right now breaker #5 is used for fridge and rice cooker and microwave and
toaster, coffee machine
some of these (rice cooker) will be moved to use receps on breaker #4
breaker #3 will be used only for range hood.
Since breaker #5 can easily be overloaded, I am thinking of modifying one
recep controlled by breaker #5 to breaker #3 (which can be easily done).
now since i found breaker #3 and breaker #4 share the same neutral, i don't
know if there is any value to modify.
I read comments online, saying that breaker #3 and #4 should be tied
together so that if one tiggered and turn off the other, should i do that? | k**u 发帖数: 10502 | 2 two breakers (#1 and #2) control the stove (40 amp) which has two hot wires

| a*****n 发帖数: 5158 | 3 I guess in old days, stove only needed two hot wires, but nowadays they need
an extra neutral wire, which according to what i read, is only used for
supporting accessory equipment of the stove, such as light, display panel ,
clock etc. so it should not draw high walts.
to stop sharing, i have to abandon breaker #3 and #4 without getting an
extra wire from the breaker panel which is very far.
there are breaker #6 (20 amp) at the other side of the stove receps. |
