G***G 发帖数: 16778 | 1 I always find some people who moved a lot from one state to another state.
Some people change their jobs very frequently, even as frequent as
once every two years.
I am just wondering how they buy/sell their houses so frequently?
If they happen to buy a dream new house with a dream price,
but they need to leave that city later,
won't they cry when they sell it in a standard price? |
C******e 发帖数: 11790 | 2 担心个屁,能找到工作的老中,基本都有搬家费,里面很多都含补贴卖房子的损失的。 |

if someone likes the lifestyle with frequent moves, then real estate is not
a problem for them

would you be upset if you sell it and move to a rich state (where an
ocean-view house is too expensive to afford, for example, CA)?

还是值得同情的,就说买房前就要算计好,一旦被LAYOFF怎么办,
不要以为倒霉的事不会发生在自己身上,我都被LAYOFF5回啦,
5回期间都没买房,要有房的话,估计要赔死了

l**a 发帖数: 12455 | 12 it depends on the difference between the two houses. if the house you can
afford in the rich state is too bad, then no; if the house you can afford in
the rich state is average level, then yes; for example, won't move to new
york city unless absolutely necessary because of the housing situation is
terrible in new york city. compared to new york city, would rather stay in
poor state rather than go to new york city and spend half of income on a
livable two-bedroom apartment with no or very narrow parking space and stuff

G***G 发帖数: 16778 | 13 I mean some ocean-view house in states such as Lousiana etc.
and some new jobs in CA.
I find that a lot of Chinese professor like to move around within states.
Did they all rent houses before they finally settle down?
For example, when and how do you know you will settle down and then
buy a house?
Five jobs? None of the previous four ones can make you settle down?
Why the last one can settle you down?

G***G 发帖数: 16778 | 14 You still didn't tell us how you feel you can settle down eventually.
for example, with a job of $300k at Houston, will you settle down or not
after only three months of trying?
If later you find a job of $400k, will you sell the house or not?
suppose you buy a dream house at Houston.

move in IS too bad.
For example, in CA, most people can buy a 50-60 years old house with $700k.
But they owned a new house in TX.

stuff

a***d 发帖数: 1347 | 19 A house is not everything in your life.
I have a 5 bedroom, 5 bath, 4000sq house in the south. We pay only $1000/
month. We are 2 years away to pay off the morgage.
We are looking for 3-4 bedroom, 2-3 bath, 2000 sq in north east area.
We will pay at least 3000-4000/month. Maybe a townhouse. for $800,0000.
But, with better school, better medical care, better chinese food,
metropolitan city life, etc. I think we will be happier. |
l**a 发帖数: 12455 | 20 this is true. the thing is the 2000 sq ft house in north east is still on an
average level of housing. So the difference between 4000 sq ft house and
2000 sq ft house is not that big, because the 2000 sq ft house is above the
threshold for most people's housing needs. many people would want to trade
the additional 2000 sq footage for a living environment that one likes more
if the house you can afford in the rich state is only 700 sq ft , then many
people may not want to trade it

l**a 发帖数: 12455 | 21 paying 700K for a 50-60 year old house is not "too bad", at least you get
over 1500 sq ft living space, which does meet most regular families' housing
needs, plus, such a house is very likely to be located in a relatively good
school district, which saves you much money for children's schooling. and
everyone knows that CA life is enjoyable compared to most places, no matter
in which regard. probably the only drawback of CA life is that the housing
is not as big as other places, but it is definitely not as intolerable as
new york city
a new house is indeed better than a 50-60 year house. however, most people
would say housing is only part of living quality, and the weight will not be
higher than 0.2
