房子可选，还是要选接public sewage管道的。
每一两年要清，还要检修，要是有leakage,更麻烦。要是买了以后要改接public
sewage,remove又是一大笔。

In a community that uses public sewage, HOA usually will take care of this
and the HOA fee we paid includes this service.
I am right now interested in a house with a large lot in unincorporated area.
It is using septic system. So in such a case, we to have take care of it by
ourselves through septic service. But we don't need to paid any monthly fee
just for this.
Just searched online found that cleaning usually takes about $500.
I don't think there is a near-future to remove it.
But one question I got is does a septic system have a life time?
Or if it is too old, we have to replace it with a new one?

发帖数: 1916 | 5 Pump out every 3-5 years depending on how much you sh!t at home and how
effectively the bacteria in the tank are working. Some houses don't need
pumpout services for years. Do be mindful about what is going to enter into
the septic system. Old center be careful NOT pouring grease into the drain
system.

发帖数: 980 | 6 public sewage一般是town里的管道，town里管，通到waste water treatment plant。
你交的水费里有这部分。septic system就是自己maintain,看tank的容量和家里的人口
数，solid积满了就要找人pump出来，一般这个都有建议，比如两口人两年清一次，四
口人一年一次之类的。septic的life time挺长的，要20-30年。

In MA, it is required for the seller to proof that the septic is in working
condition, i.e. the seller must obtain Title V for the new owner. There is
nothing you should worry about.
