发帖数: 115 | 6 我看得PG&E的smart meter. 基本维持在2.4kw. 我试了一天白天不开furnace, 一天用
18kwh. 如果开的话，基本是42kwh.
这个furnace是不是用电太多了？

温度很低的话，那么这个Emergency Electric Heater很可能也被启动。

发帖数: 15836 | 13 对不起，没看清原文。如果是Gas加热的话，那么一般来讲应该没有应急加热机制。不
过楼长的用电很难用风扇解释，因为一般Furnace的风扇用电是几百到1千瓦。如果他的
Furnace有这种电辅助加热的机制的话，那么它的启动可能代表着gas不能加热了，也可
能外面太冷gas加热太慢。

没有emergency electric heater。但这样有解释不了楼长Furnace的超高用电量，所以
肯定有什么比较大的用电的东西和Furnace的开关连着。Emergency electric heater应
该是一个可能性。楼长needs to find it out.

Heater turn on后， 我的gas用量也急剧上升，所以我觉得是gas furnace.
我自己又大概折腾了一下。我的房子有两个zone. 如果我开楼上的，用电量很小，大概
0.5KW. 如果我开楼下的，就2.4KW. HVAC系统有两个outdoor unit (fan and
compressor?). 如果开楼上的heater, both outdoor unit 没有启动, 但是如果开楼下
的heater, one outdoor unit 就启动了。我把outdoor unit plug out的话，electric
power马上就降到0.5KW左右了。heater还是工作的，出风口能感觉到热气，温度也上
升了。
看来是这个outdoor unit很费电。summer 开AC的时候，outdoor unit是开的，这是主
要的空调部分。为什么开heater，它也启动了？还是说应该只起到风扇的作用去排除废
气？

房子是双加热系统的，一般这种比较少见。两个能源一起加热快，但不一定最节能。

check the air outlet temperatures with and without outside HVAC power
plugged.

with the wire?

easy thing you can do, as I mentioned earlier, is to check the first floor
air outlet temperatures with and without outside HVAC power plugged in. If
the outlet temperature is significantly higher when outside HVAC is plugged
in, that means that both of them works together to head your house.
Otherwise, there is something wrong.

unit since yesterday night and this morning it is not very cold.
I read the label of the outside units. Both are labeled as model 38BRC (I
have the document of 38CKS). They are AC, not heat pump.
I called some contractor to come check. Will update after I get the result.
