9094 | 2 1) The more clients/cases you have, the busier you are. Frankly speaking, the
workload would not be more intense or heavier than that for a biology/chemistry
postdoc who is constantly reminded of his "poor" performance by his
mentor. At least you can sit down in a chair instead of standing in front
of a hood for 12 hours or taking time points at 2 AM. As to the flexibility
of your work hours, it depends. As long as your clients are happy and you meet
all the deadlines, there is no reason to prevent you from keeping a PRODUCTIVE
schedule for you, especially if you can make up some good arguments.
2) For most government jobs, you need to be a U.S. citizen or national.
Military like army or navy might have openings but you need clearance to get
in. For Chinese professional, it would be a hassle. But joining USPTO is
not a bad idea. You can work from home after just a few years and have
overtime pay, long vacations, etc. But you have to live in the Washington, D
.C. area.
3) You start with your own specialty. If your boss is flexible, you might
have cases in other areas to work with. It's not that hard once you learn
the jargons of a new trade and familiarize yourself with the art of writing
claims.
P.S. I am not an IP attorney. Take my words with a grain of salt. | t***9 发帖数: 21 | 3 Haven't been here for a couple of days.
Many thanks to Beida101 for answering my questions. They have pretty much
cleared all my doubts.
Thanks again. | y*****d
