Wtf? TTT law firm or kill-self?
I'm serious, 10x for input |
o****e 发帖数: 195 | 2 Looks like you're faced with two challenges: lack of specialization, and
insufficient English/communication skills.
Both problems need to be solved for long-term career development, law or not.
My suggestion is plan for a long-term solution, for example, getting an
LLM with a marketable specialization while acquiring language/communication
skills. |
b******s 发帖数: 33 | 3 please don't use words like wtf when you admit your english is not yet good
enough.
frankly i don't quite understand where you come from. do you mean you are
already out of law school and can't find a job, or you are asking for advice
on whether to go to this T20 for a JD?
if you are a graduate. all you need to do and can do is to look harder in
the job market.
getting a tax or ip or corporate llm is not a bad idea, if you can afford
the time and $$. |
s**********8 发帖数: 40 | 4 Sorry for the confusion.
my real concern is that what are guys described in my post, like"T20 w/
average grades" doing? assuming, maybe I'm wrong, they are shutted out at
OCI?
As for myslef, I'm currently doing my LL.M and admitted into Bu & Fordham
with advanced standing.
I'm so curious about the fact that nobody here talks about the dark side of
law shcool, or does it mean every chinese JD can find a biglaw job
eventually?
Never mind thanks~ |
n***e 发帖数: 461 | 5 it all depends. but i'm sure not every chinese jd ends up with a biglaw job.
what u mean "eventually"? after some years toiling at smaller firms?
as far as I know/hear, at bu and fordam you better stay at top 25% or
otherwise it'll be difficult to find a biglaw job. I don't know how they
will consider your LLM record. if it's from a very good school, then a good
GPA helps.
anyway, don't worry too much. knowing the dark side does not better prepare
you for anything. stay positive and do the best |
b******s 发帖数: 33 | 6 honestly i doubt an LLM from BU or Fordham will help much if you already
have a T20 JD. i know a couple of Chinese JDs who did LLM afterward, and
both are now with biglaw. i assume the only reason they chose to do LLM was
that they couldn't get great jobs with their JD degrees. but mind you,
both got specialized LLMs from a top 5 school |
n***e 发帖数: 461 | 7 lz got LLM already and will transfer into jd program in bu/fordham/... |

job.
good
prepare
However, the thing is I also got $$ from SMU & Chicago-Kent. so I wanna
investigate a bit on this bad end , in order to decide whehter take these $
over.
