The U.S. federal court system hears cases involving litigants from two

Prop 8 is a violation of the basic constitutional rights of
gays/lesbians therefore the case is now in the hands of U.S. District
Judge Vaughn Walker (federal judge).

发帖数: 677 | 2 Judge Vaughn Walker is a Republican first nominated by Ronald Reagan. In the
past he's shown sympathy for gays/lesbians. The common expectation is that
he will rule in favor of the plaintiff.
Btw, something I just found out today: one of the plaintiffs, Sandra Stier,
was married to a man for 12 years.
She said the differences between marriage and domestic partnerships are
profound. She and Perry have to take extra legal precautions when they
travel to states that do not recognize gay relationshi | y********k
发帖数: 677 | 3 Regardless of the rulings of Judge Walker and the appellate judge, it is
very likely, (unless God comes down and tells all the prop 8 supporters that
they have been acting moronically thinking that she's against gays/lesbians
), to go all the way to the supreme court.
Of the 9 supreme court judges, 4 have been ruling consistently conservative
and 4 consistently liberal. The swing vote is likely to be from judge
Anthony Kennedy.
