Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering
Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering at Auburn University is
seeking a candidate for a tenure-track faculty position starting August 15th
, 2012. Appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate level classes
and developing new classes in the Fiber engineering option, supervising M.S.
and Ph.D. students and establishing and maintaining an externally funded
research program. Candidates with a demonstrated excellence in research and
interest in a fiber area such as multifunctional fibers, sensors, optics,
electronics, biomedical uses, lasers, energy applications and interface
science are encouraged to apply. An earned doctorate in Polymer and Fiber
Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related discipline is required and a
post-doctoral/industrial experience is preferred.
