Assistant Professor
The Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering at Auburn University is
seeking a candidate for a tenure-track faculty position starting August 15th
, 2013. Appointment will be at the assistant professor level.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate level classes
and developing new classes in polymer and fiber engineering, supervising M.S
. and Ph.D. students and establishing and maintaining an externally funded
research program. Candidates with a demonstrated excellence in research and
interest in areas such as advanced composite materials, high-performance
fibers and polymers, multifunctional fibers, sensors, optics, electronics,
biomedical materials, lasers, energy applications, and interface science are
encouraged to apply. An earned doctorate in Polymer and Fiber Engineering,
Materials Engineering or a related discipline is required and a post-
doctoral/industrial experience is preferred.
