Position Title
MTS 2 Software Engineer
Description
This position is located in eBay Center of Excellence in Shanghai in the
Engineering team of eBay Cloud Services organization in eBay. This team is
focusing on engineering design and implementation to provide world-class
state-of-the-art engineering solutions to support eBay business globally
from the platform and infrastructure perspective. The main focus is to
create a highly scalable messaging system to support eBay business. This
position will be mainly focusing on (but not limited to) developing and
supporting eBay next generation messaging platform.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the support and enhancement effort on next generation
messaging platform. Work with a team of engineers to provide support to the
internal engineers.
Contribute to the open source community on messaging related
projects.
Participate to the design and implementation of messaging
infrastructure to align with the vision of eBay Platform Infrastructure.
Provide technical consultancy to engineers on messaging
development.
Focus on innovative ideas to drive the future of open source
technology for patent filing and open source community contribution.
Design and implement technical solutions to support the
ecosystem of Data Infrastructure.
Work with a team of engineering expertise to design and develop
innovative technical solutions.
Job Requirement
Proven successful track record of 6+ years of software
engineering design and development experience with strong background of open
source technology.
Strong development skills in Java and Scala with strong sense of
performance, scalability, concurrency and extensibility.
Have passion and strong engineering background on dealing with
messaging products.
Excellent background on computer science fundamentals, data
structures, and algorithms.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skill on both defect
and performance issue resolution.
Proven result oriented individual with delivery focus in a high
velocity, high quality environment.
Experience in Kafka, ZeroMQ or other messaging products is a
plus.
Strong communication skills in oral and written English.
Working experience in multi-national company is a plus.
Strong inter-personal networking skills with the ability to
relate to executives and other team members through all organizational
levels.
MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or
equivalent
Good communications skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work with other engineers as a team player
Strong sense of engineering quality, user experience and
customer satisfaction |
