POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR – Quantum Dot Synthesis

POSITION SUMMARY: The School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental
Engineering at Oregon State University invites applications for a full-time
(1.0 FTE), 12-month post-doctoral scholar in the area of quantum dot
synthesis. The candidates should have expertise in the synthetic procedures
, including core-shell structures, and advanced characterization methods for
quantum dots. We seek a candidate with experience in the formulation of
stable quantum dot dispersions, including ligand exchange reactions, size
selective precipitation, and the integration of quantum dots into devices.
This position provides an opportunity for cross-disciplinary research in the
application of materials science to advanced lighting and solar cell
applications. The successful candidate is also expected to mentor and
collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students, interface with
researchers at our industrial partner, and to assume both lead and
supporting roles in the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry,
Materials Science or related field.
• Demonstrated capacity for intellectual creativity and leadership
in university-level scholarship
• Evidence of ability and interest in participating in diverse
interdisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated record of publication or other scholarly activity.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Experience with synthesis and characterization of quantum dot
materials.
• Experience with photoluminescence quantum yield measurements.
• Expertise in high-resolution transmission electron microscopy.
