software engineers at our new Seattle development center who share our
passion for crafting a new evolution in local commerce.
The Mobile Marketing team is part of this revolution. We are looking for
world-class engineers who loves to deal with huge amount of big data and
provide the best user experience. Our goal is to drive lots of mobile app
download and activations for Groupon through different marketing channels.
As a SDE Lead on the Mobile Marketing team you will lead the team to work on
high throughput backend system that handles thousands of requests per
second, and create beautiful frontend landing pages that deliver greatest
user experience/conversion rate. Also you will be able to spend lots of time
with big data, doing data mining and building predictive models to
influence business decisions.
To qualify for this role we are looking for a person with:
At least 10 years of software development experience
B.S. or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
Expert proficiency in at least one dynamic programming language (
Coffeescript prefered) and one compiled programming language (Java preferred)
Expert proficiency with MVC frameworks like Node.js/Express or Ruby on Rails
etc
Experience with front end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, Backbone
etc
Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, or any NoSQL databases
Extensive experience with open source technology stacks, contribution to
open source projects is a plus
Familiarity with Agile development process, TDD/BDD, and *NIX development
environments
Experience in building mobile marketing product is a big plus

To qualify for this role we are looking for a person with:
At least 8 years of software development experience
B.S. or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
Expert proficiency in at least one dynamic programming language (
Coffeescript prefered) and one compiled programming language (Java preferred)
Experience with MVC frameworks like Node.js/Express or Ruby on Rails etc
Experience with front end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JQuery etc
