标 题: I have a meeting w/ a recruitor tomorrow - help pls~
发信站: BBS 未名空间站 (Wed Jan 25 16:00:18 2012, 美东)
Hi everyone - I am sorry for typing in English. My new working computer has
not installed Chinese yet. Please excuse me for using English.
I haven't talked to a recruiter before, and will have my first meeting
tomorrow morning. I know that they are helping a global company looking for
a tax senior which I am really interested in. However, I have some
disadvantage in my past experience and try not to let that impact the
conversation. I will really appreciate your ladies sharing your thought or
experience with me. Given my zero experience with talking with any
recruiters, I am trying to get familiar with the process and common topics,
so I can be prepared for the conversation and get the most out of that
meeting.
Here are their expectations for tomorrow: I'd like to discuss those changes
with you and also talk about what type of position you'd be looking for,
geographic preference (stay locally, or anywhere else in the US),
compensation, etc.
My disadvantage: I have been working with a public accounting firm for 4
years, but haven't taken the CPA exam yet. Different reasons causing this
consequences, but none of these reasons was ok to be addressed in the
conversation. For example, I was lazy when I first started, then had a baby,
and then not get along with one of my previous bosses so hated my job, etc.
Looking back to what I have experienced in the past, I really disappointed
about myself for keep giving myself excuses on this. I couldn't think of
any acceptable explanation. I do plan to take the exam starting this summer,
but that probably won't help me with my current situation. Would you
please provide any suggestions what would be an appropriate way for me to
answer the recruiter's question on this?
The reason of the change: truly two main reasons - First, I am tired of the
unstable hours and utilization. Second, I would like to know one area
deeper instead of staying in challenging for different things. Can either
of these reasons be mentioned? Part of me keep saying that public accounting
firm is the place where provides the challenges. Another part of me says,
there are a lot of other things don't help there (Potential revenue pressure
, staffing, budget discussion, utilization, etc.). What would you say if
you were asked this question?
Compensation: what would be the appropriate way to address my needs about
the compensation? Can I say just the market standard?
Thanks a lot in advance! | P*******1 发帖数: 1022 | 2 Focus on the positive and get a good night sleep. | o****t 发帖数: 73 | |
