一个onsite被拒了,i don't think it is appropriate to email the hr and ask why
i was being rejected, so i talked about what happened during my interview
with_some of my friends. In the end, i just felt like i was simply
competing with ppl that are more qualified than me. 另外一个onsite,我刚才给
interview我的人打电话to ask the status of my application. The guy on the
phone told me, quote "i will be honest with you, we have given the offer to
another person, however, if that person rejects the offer, we will give the
offer to you."听了人家这话以后,说实在的,我心里不知道是什么滋味,说白了,自己就
是人家的2nd_choice.
第一个onsite被拒了以后,我觉得也许有运气的成分,但如果2个onsite都被拒了的话,我
觉得都不单单是运气的成分了.后来我就觉得要想短时间找到工作,很多时候需要有edge
.我在linkedin上面看我们学校一个牛人的resume.说实话,我要是招人的话,我也会招那
个牛人,而不是我自己.但我想说的是有些时候edge这个东西并不是我们自己能够控制得
了的.我认识有些人,天生就是聪明,从高中到大学毕业,在美国顶尖的工科学校本科毕业
,现在接着读phd.我和这个哥们从上中学的时候就认识了,这么多年,上了这么多门课,人
家最差的成绩是A-,而且他只得过一个A-.而有些牛人,他们父母都是大学教授,人家从小
就而苜蓿然?大学学起来当然容易,而且也容易产生兴趣.但这些事情都不是我们可以控
制的了的.这个世界上,老天爷,他觉得有些人就应该成为工程师,医生,画家...所以有些
时候我觉得我们这些稍微笨一点的人也不必钻什么牛角尖.
同样,我刚才在linkedin上面看刚才我打电话问status of my application的人,土生土
长的美国人.我觉得他天分也不高,花了6年才把电子工程本科读下来,上的学校也就是个
美国2流,中等偏上.花了1年多才找到工作.所以看了他的resume以后,我觉得如果没有
edge的话,我们就应该执着.如果我们真的想要一份我们感兴趣的工作的话,我们就应该
一直坚持下去,相信只要我申请下去,也许今天明天,甚至是后天,我们不会有interview,
offer...但或许只要我努力,大后天,甚至是下个礼拜,或许我们会得到一个interview,
一个offer...毕竟谁都不知道未来会发生什么.不说别人,就说我自己,N年前,我在中国
上小学的时候,一年级,我记得特别清楚,第一次数学考试,全班50多人,我考了全班倒数
第一.当时我真的觉得我这辈子就要完蛋了,因为你想,一个能把2+3算成等于6的人能有
什么希望,这样的没有希望,hopeless.但N年以后,sarcastically speaking, 我比我们
班50多人毕业的学校都要好.虽然我极少和别人提起这件事情,因为说实话,但我看到我
们学校的那些牛人的时候,说句不好听的,我真的觉得我自己是个idiot. | v***n

most likely, you will have a job. If you don't have an edge, don't give up,
just keep trying, sooner or later, you will have a job as well.

Keeping trying may not be useful, there are still more than 9% people w/o
a job (even part-time) in this country.

发帖数: 253 | 12 the grade you got AT school doesn't represent your ability to achieve a goal
in a company. work well in one company doesn't mean you can survive in the
other.
i would honestly tell you, i will be happy to know that i still have a
chance and i am the second choice, that means, you match the position
description, they just want a little more. if one company in the industry
has recognized your ability against that position, you most likely r going
to the correct direction on job searching.. be persistent and be grateful.

发帖数: 4762 | 15 EE的工作还是有，但是对于刚毕业的人来说，就要考虑小公司，小公司才有机会。我赞
成楼主的，对没有那么多Edge的人来说，就是等待，机会还有，我也是找了1年10个月
之后才找到工作的。
但是我也知道有运气好的人，找了6个月，找到了小公司，但是待遇非常不错。 | t******a
