发帖数: 19 | 1 大致可能的情形是，PhD在读期间申CPT工作，然后雇主答应给办H1B，但H1B生效日期最
早只能10月1号，但学校的秋季学期是8月底到12月上旬，因为没有OPT可用，为了维持
身份只能在秋季继续CPT一直到H1B生效，与此同时退学。
又或者，单位不在乎9月那个月你是否上班，可以八月底继续注册课程，一旦10月1号H1
生效就退学，但这个的缺点是要交9个学分的学费，而且按照学校的规定等到10月1号再
退，学费一分也退不回来了。
另外，有个疑惑，学校的withdraw form上要求填写预计离境时间，难不成我得回国再
签（激活）H1B？
本人看了所有的FAQ和大部分类似帖子，都没有找到答案，于是再次发文求助，希望高

H1B writes over F1 status whatever OPT o CPT. I think you are good.
Can you register for part-time to keep your CPT status? like 1 or 3 credit

Did you ever hear the similar case before?
What do you mean by registering for part-time CPT for 1 or 2 credit ?
I don't get it why I need a parttime CPT instead of a fulltime one. To my
understanding, they are the same thing. Anyway, when H1B become active, I
need to terminate my CPT(i.e. Quit School) and switch to H1B.
Or,can I ask company to continue hiring uing CPT until the end of the
semester(i.e. end of CPT) and then start H1B. I don't know if you can
postphone the

I got my Master recently. I will transfer to the PhD this fall. But once I
transfer to PhD program, I will lose the OPT of Master forever. To avoid
more risk, I choose to enter PhD first and continue looking for a job. If I
cannot find a full-time soon, I would like to use CPT to do intern during
PhD. But before I do this, I want to think it through. This post is about
one possible case I would probably need to deal with later on...
You share your case here. Hopefully, some more experienced
