they ask me my expectation, but did not give me their plan, and just ask my
expectation.
I use 85k-105k, I do not know whether 85k is too low or not. If it is too lo
w, I worry about they will think like this
1. I am not confident on myself, and I am not worth for a good salary
2. I will lose money if they have already planned to give me 95k
on another hand, if I asked too high, I worry they will not give me the offe
r.

续考虑你的工作申请。当然，如果有公司要了你，你就赚了。
real world examples for your reference: 75K for several fresh ME PhD's in a
small startup company in Upstate NY, few years ago.
use salary.com, glassdoor.com, check with your friends, and try other ways
to find a reasonable range for jobs you are applying for.
