c******z 发帖数: 1230 | 1 首先请问non-commission-based和fee-only(http://napfa.org/)的brokerage/financial advisor是一回事吗?
1 Merrill Lynch绝对是commission-based的,除了trade fee, annual management
fee之外,还有隐形的由于underwrite得到的commission;
作的investment group;
cost.
1204 | 2 It depends on whom at Charles Schwab you talked to, many of them can claim
they are not commission based because they are paid fixed salary plus bonus,
but their bonus largely depends on their performance (meaning how and where
they directed your money to).
Below is its compensation structure:

Fee-based advisors have fiduciary duty to their clients (meaning they have
sworn to put clients' interests first), most of them are small shops because
this is labor intensive service. They might still earn commission, but
they need to disclose to you and the product must be of the best interest to
you. |
