Google is going to acquire MMI at $40 per share. The deal will be done by
the end of June. The only risk is whether Chinese government will block the
deal. As far as I know, Chinese government has never blocked any foreign
mergers yet. Both US and Europe have agreed the deal. The expected return
will be around 2.3% in less than three months. That gives you about more
than 9% annual return. Not bad for such a low risk deal given our current
low interest environment. Of course, this deal is not 100% sure. I
personally believe its probability is near 99%. Again, your money, your
decision.

it could be some shareholders wanted to get the cash earlier. but it could
also be market expected the risk up. how could you be so sure it's not the
latter?

before Google finished the transaction).
买PFCB. PFCB will be acquired at $51.5/share (cash) by Centerbridge Partners
on
June 21. The deal should be done on June 21. The current market price for
PFCB is $51.09. You can get 0.8% return in less than two weeks. The
annualized return will be more than 25%. The risk? I think it is very small.
The risk is whether the deal will be done successfully.
I am pretty sure that the deal will be done successfully. We will know the
result in less than two weeks.
