背景：
MS, BioMed， 目前 research staff at university
Publication 9 (all English, IF 7-20+), first author: 0; second author 3.
Citation:>200
reviewer: 10
Recommendation letter: 5 (2 independent)
找律师办的，PL 的background&achievement部分主要列了contribution 和impact/
recognition.
当时递上去的时候，主要担心没有first author的paper，所以先递NIW.
今天来了个RFE，主要是针对impact. For example, "while the petitioner's
articles were published in journals with high impact factors, the petitioner
did not submit any evidence to show that beneficiary's research has
influenced the field. One of the beneficiary's publication was cited 135
times and a second publication was cited 79 times. However, the petitioner
did not submit any evidence to establish that the beneficiary's citation
record shows the beneficiary has a past track record of success with some
degree on influence on the field.
我的研究主要是针对某种病，两个independent RL 都是physician scientist, 主要讲
我们的研究帮助他们做出正确的诊断，避免了误诊。
In the REF, "while the research is credited for successful diagnosis of a
patient, does not provide any examples of how the research has already
contributed to the field."
我的问题是：
1。对NIW， PL里列impact/recognition, 是否可行？
2。citation 和RL里给出的例子，事实上已经证明了influence.应该怎么回复？ |

例如你干了A, 别人的文章里说"XXX的YYY文章里A很重要[1]"。把这种部分找出来。 |

我研究的是一种新发现的疾病，医生的推荐信
No.1, 举了一个疑难病例，应为看过了我的paper,采用了我们的诊断措施，病人得以确
诊，否则他会被误诊。
No。2， 我们的发现导致另一个相关领域的一批病人可以被确诊，现在我们研究的这种
疾病已成为该领域的常规鉴别诊断之一。
事实上，这在医学上是不折不扣的breakthrough finding.
BTW. one of the paper I coauthored (4th) received a big reward from national
society. Should I list this as the evidence of influence in the field? I
mentioned briefly in one of the RL, but did not single it out because I am
not the first author/

发帖数: 4631 | 12 “医学上是不折不扣的breakthrough finding.”是不行的，需要的是傻子都能看出来
的“breakthrough finding”。
一定要记住Visa officer可能只是高中毕业。
另外你有没有写每年有多少人会得这种病，死多少，因为生病损失多少工作的时间（算
上亲属陪同看病）。你这种办法可以拯救多少家庭，为美国经济做多少贡献等等。

你上边说的这些都是软证据 (是推荐人的主观的陈述)。IO要的是硬证据 (客观的证据
，比如网上可以搜到的网页证明)。

发帖数: 309 | 17 很强的case，应该是写作的问题。impact既要具体又要宏观，你的letter具体事例很牛
，但可能从宏观角度强调不够，我很同意cyfer的说法，没有那些东西就不能说明有
national interest。
此外你的citation很高，不知道你有没有去一片一片看过那些cite你的paper，肯定有
一些paper里详细讨论了你research，说你的research多么好，被他们怎样应用，把这
些详细列出来都是好证据 |
