我担心会花太多时间在很多琐事上面，所以想权衡一下利弊。

My back log in this moment is of over 100 manuscripts!!!
For this reason XXXX is establishing a new kind of Editor: the Assistant
Editor. This is an attempt that we are making and for this reason this job
will have a temporary duration of six months. If it will work, XXXX may
decide to make it more extended in time, and perhaps permanent. The main
role of the Assistant Editor should be that of helping an Editor in Chief,
me in this case,to get rid of the backlog.
The assistant Editor will receive a modest reward. I do not know yet how
much.Thus, I am looking for somebody who may work as my Assistant Editor. |

是不是比reviewer更加光鲜点呢？

光鲜多了。你需要审稿的话，就算judge others work

今天收到正式邀请信，信里面没有任何内容说明为什么选我（比如我怎么肌肉发达，力
拔山兮气盖世），信里面有如下内容：
the role of the Assistant Editor encompasses the following:
- To check and evaluate submissions (submitted to the selected journal). The
goal is to filter out submission that do not fit within the criteria of the
selected journal.
- To work with the Editors-in-chief of the journal to maintain high
standards and futher develop an efficient author-friendly workflow.
.....
In undertaking the Editorial Services under this Agreement, it is understood
that you are doing so as an independent contractor on your own account and
not as an employee of Elsevier or any affiliated company. ....
You will be appointed by Elsevier for a term of six (6) months ......
做这个Assistant Editor能算做judge other people's work吧？
需要和publishing director联系一下，让他在邀请信里加上些
赞美我的语句吗？
还是以后找Editor－in-chief弄推荐信的时候再吹自己牛？
