任何回应；中间10月11号发email询问也不理。应不应该打电话问问？
还有自己phd的老板，10月11号发信问推荐，到现在没有任何回应；10月18号发email询
问也不理。应不应该打电话问问？（最近一次通讯是9月12号需要修改一篇文章，以前
发邮件老板最多1，2天就回复了）
其他欧洲，亚洲的推荐人，面都没见过，回复很快的，也很快就完成了；为啥这些美国
人倒是一个比一个慢呢？ |

发帖数: 18 | 4 I also waited for 1.5 months for a reference letter. It is hard
to push some professors especially big guys since they have so many
other commitments. They might not put our letter as priority.
The rational way is to politely send them a reminder (put due date on that)
once a week or even 10 days if you still can not get response.

发帖数: 1797 | 6 my bad. I didn't put hard deadline as I thought it was not polite to push
them so I put like " at your earliest convenience".
It seems I should put deadline there now.

anyway 我觉的还是不要给deadline,如果对方miss了你给的deadline,再催估计你也不
好开口了,大家就都很awkward了. 2周催一次,4周没答复,打电话. 就是客气,让对方不
好意思,觉的再拖guity.
大概就这么写
I feel so embarrassed to ask you about the reference letter which I am
looking forward to. I highly appreciate your time and understanding that I
want to wrap up my application, which has haunted me for a while.

发帖数: 9084 | 11 embarrassed用这里没什么问题. 是要表达你问人家自己也很不好意思(而不是理直气壮
),当然自己是没做错什么,道理上也没必要"embarrassed". 但上来就说I want to know when you can finish the letter.对方看着会很不舒服. 随便google一下,embarrassed的例句都是表达这个意思

Approach them and ask. Usually something to the effect of, "Excuse me, Ms.
Cook? I am applying to college, and I was wondering if you would write a
recommendation letter for me," works just fine. Most likely, the person that
you're asking has been in the same position as you before. No need to
grovel or be embarrassed.......

Dear Dr AAA:
Have not heard from you for a while. So I am wondering whether my last Email
has been reached you. Therefor, I email my CV and draft to you again. Hope
you are able to receive.
I understand that whatever decision you made should be reasonable. Just let
me know if you need more info.

然后把草稿和CV再发一遍，三个外国教授推荐就是这么搞到的。。。 |

say:" I hope to get the letter by mm/dd/yy, please let me know if you need
