只需要 3 bedroom了，于是我们
又另外租了一处。本来以为前面那家只要我们赔定金900刀就算了，结果那家咬定不能
退租，还威胁要退就告上法庭，还拿
着我们的student card复印件说要是不履行合同就联系学校不给成绩，态度非常不好。
现在两边房子都已经签了，如果都
退不了可怎么办呢？有没有法律条款提到如何中止房屋租赁合同的？
我们都是第一年的新生，办事很多不谨慎之处，现在遇到这样的大麻烦很紧张，只好求

发帖数: 1005 | 2 First of all, you signed the lease, so you should be responsible for what
you have done. The leasehold on your lease is the duration you committed to
rent that house.
But most of landlords are reasonable with such scenarios. The normal
practise is if you can find someone else who is willing to take over your
remaining leasehold, they are gonna fine with it.
If you can't find anyone, you may lose your security deposit for sure and
they have the right to sue you (of course, it's not very common).

化，该先问一边能否取消再定下一家
的，太想当然了，以为国内呢。非常非常感谢你的回复，明白了，也放心了一些，刚来
没经过多少事，听到sue就紧张

a. they may or may not sue
b. they may or may not win
btw, most universities offer free legal consultation to its students. So try
to contact the student legal service of your school.
