diving day this morning. check in time 7:30 am. got up at 5:30 am. it is an
hour drive from campsite to dive shop. Poor LY had to get up that early too
to drive me to dive shop and then back to campsite.
We had 2 shore dives at Koloa Landing. I had my gopro fully charged 2 days
ago at the hotel, but dont know why it was still a dead battery. did not get
any videos. was not an interesting dive neither. vis was not good. we need
to swim about 100 ft in then dive down. only went down about 50 ft.
Putting on my new wetsuit for the first time was a daunting task. Tried it
on at home, afraid that my arms would go numb from the tightness. Divemaster
helped to put it on me, pulling, pulling and pulling on. zipped up. we
walked with tanks on into the ocean.
so
i had my first shower in 4 days in the blue ocean :).
An incident happened while diving. that the divemaster went up and didnot
signal me about it. i was following him closely behind. saw him went up with
another diver. not sure if he would come back down, so i waited a little
down there. then i decided to go up too. when i was at surface, didnot see
any one there . hmmm, thought to myself. should i go back down there again?
wondering for a while, heard the clipping sound from divemaster, but cannot
tell which direction that is from. so i waited. another moment later, he
came behind me.
The divemaster knew lots of things about fish. tried to show us the little
difference. we saw leaf scorpions and double scorpions.
went to Poipu beach . did my first time snorkelling. so many pretty fish
there but the rocks are more. water is very shadow. and can get scratched
from rocks very easily.
i still remember the soft orange light from setting sun, casting onto the
shore, the reflections from water onto our smiley faces. There was a little
sand pass into the ocean to a little island. when tides are up, the pass
disappeared into the waters. i stood there watching the pass come and go
with shining waters, amazed.
Happiness can be so simple. |
