disappointed me when I went there. There are many many much better beaches
elsewhere in FL. |

I'll pick Hawaii anytime. If nothing else, just that strong sense
of being away from it all is well worth it.
And I agree with Littldrunken—Miami is not necessarily the best
place to experience Florida, unless it's good Cuban cuisine you
are after, and summer is definitely not the best time to be there.
I learnt it the hard way, thanks to my good old wife's last-minute
vacation-planning blunder. It stays about 90 degrees around the
clock, and with the 90% humidity, that's one kind of heat that
even we southern California desert rats would rather not deal
with. Staying in the water—either in the ocean or in a pool—
is just about the only activity suitable for Florida in summer. |
