跟普通的台式机的硬盘是一样的吗？

不过看Dell网站上也有 SATA的：

多花钱就给你配SAS，反之亦然
并不是说只要是dell的服务器就一定要配热插拔SAS硬盘，而且SATA开了AHCI之后，某

If you are operating a data center, such that a failure could result in
massive loss, then you should go SAS (no matter it's the 7k2 or 15k version)
. A SAS raid is a charm to manager - all you need is to check the lights
regularly (can be done remotely) and replace drive when there is a yellow
light by giving a call to Dell (native speaker answers in 1 minutes).
For the $230 SATA AHCI, I feel it's a bit reluctant - when not buy a disk
array and buy the drive saparately, assuming you are doing not-so-profitful
business and a failure could be recovered by spending some time and human
resource?
Nontheless, for a reliable / high throughput datacenter, SAS is a must. SATA
SSD cannot even replace it.
We recently acquired three data nodes (to start a hadoop file system).
Each has a server and a disk array (using some special interface, forgot the
name).
Server is in general: Xeon 5650 x 2, 24G ECC, 15k rpm SAS RAID 1 150G x 2
for OS.
Disk array is: 12 x 1T SAS 7k2 drive with local disk array controller (we
set up 12 RAID 0, one disk each, for hadoop purpose, and thus one core per
disk).
Bought 3 year on-site service plan.
Such a set is $15K. We do not really need such reliability since we are only
a school, but it's really a pleastant experience to manage (thinking of the
labor we saved, much more than the $45k hardware).

如果自己组装一个服务器自己用，需要安装虚拟机。
使用RAID的话，空间要求1T以上，最好能有2T或更多的空间，
有什么便宜点硬盘可以推荐的。谢谢。 | r*****d
发帖数: 922 | 7 你可以从DELL买最便宜的SATA HD然后自己买大硬盘换上去.我们有四个file server都
是这么搞的.几年下来没有任何问题.但现在我觉得这么做必要已经不大了.以前主要有
两个原因:
比较早的时候,DELL竟然在server上用desktop级别的硬盘.
后来DELL终于开始用ES和RE了,但价钱贵太多了.$350的硬盘,DELL要$800.
现在2TB的买和换也就差个$100.
如果你还想自己搞,你一定要记住是只能换不能新装. SATA 硬盘需要adpator和frame才
能连上PERC SAS RAID card.如果你不从DELL买硬盘,DELL只会给你一个dummy HD
filler.

除第一个外，其他都是热插拔硬盘。
你是说这4种都可以用RE4的硬盘对吗？
热插拔的需要先选好硬盘数目，后面只能换，不能加，
第一种是不是可以自己随便加硬盘？
