I am afraid of getting sued. However, I read this yesterday at the print
edition of BesinessWeek (supposedly many stocks of companies based in Taiwan
, China, Hong Kong have ADR in US). Still I, like Warren Buffet, do not
trust 科技股.

You are right. I forgot about that.
Anyway, I simply do not trust stocks of Taiwan. I once bought--about 1983--a
mutual fund (of a Taiwanese company, investing in Taiwanese stocks). After
five years I returned, the values dropped a bit. (I cannot recall if it is
before or in the middle of stock market crash in Japan and Taiwan). My
bottom line is there was--and probably is--no logic in Taiwanese stock
market. (Then again, I never paid any attention to it, so I am not qualified
to say anything.)

"This belief that the strength of the company is stored in the
collective mind of employees—rather than in the share price of the
moment—also helps explain why Japanese companies disdain mergers and
acquisitions. Firms resist takeovers, rather than viewing them as the
natural combinatory process of business, as in the West.
"

(1) Come to think about it, I realized I made a terrible mistake, about my
investment which shrank a bit.
I put money in a Taiwanese mutual fund shortly before I left Taiwan in 1984.
In the last posting (attached below), I said, "After five years, I returned
[only to find] the values dropped a bit." It was not five years, but seven!
I returned in 1991. What I forgot to factor in, until the past several days
, was the stock bubbles in both Japan and Taiwan, which peaked in 1989 and
lost steam in
