after great drive, either a good fairway shot for par5 or an ok approaching
shot for par4, i have around 40-50 yards left to get to the green, which sho
uld be a good oppotunity to capitalize for par5 or save up and down for par4
. But somehow, i shank the ball, also, my putting is getting worse compoundi
ng with that shanking shot, so i ended up waste 5 strokes within 50 yards.
it only happends with my wedges, both 52 and 56, i checked few tips online,

wedges. keep the head down through the swing, and don't cock the wrist. | A*f

to me, the only time i open my club face is when i use wedge, sometime at fi
rst cut, most of time at rough, most of time at bunker, and cock the wrist a
s much as i can for those pitching shot. so far, that works beautifully for
me, ie, i got few birdies and one eagle out of that setup. but just those oc
casional shanks shrow me off.

for others I don't think it is necessary especially 50 yards away from green
...
but it is just my opinion...

发帖数: 50 | 5 it happened to me too,but your case might be different from mine.
What I did is to have one piece take away (shoulder and arms) and keep
connections between my body and arms during both up and down swing for the
short shots (50 yards).
That would help control timing and keep club squre at impact.

发帖数: 154 | 6 It happened to my too when I used 56 or 60 wedge. I feel that it was because
my swing plane was too shallow, or I just totally used my hands to
manipulate the ball.
Try to swing deeper and to keep hands not too actively. Just my experience.
