to me, in general, 5 wood approaching shots should definitely be worse than
short iron or wedge approaching shots. when short iron/wedge on GIR, ppl exp
ect two putts. if you land on green with 5wood, you should expect 2-3 putts.
it is common to have 3 putts with 5wood on green.

i guess depends on the green, if the green provides a lot of breaks, 2 putts
from 20- 40ft is kind of hard.
plus once you walk up green and find out birdie chances, more pressure to
putts well. aff used to write getting chip-in birdie, since chip-in is
less likely than putt-in birdie, so when chipping pressure is lower for make
birdie.
need to put more time practice putting too: intentially practice putt from
20-30ft, and putt from 1

发帖数: 913 | 5 But Dietcigs' 5 wood is sick, it went dead straight and very far. For the past
few rounds I played with him, every time there are some quality shots from
it. 2-on on par 5, hit green on tricky windy 200+ par 3, green in regulation
on ultra long par 4, you just name it and most of time close to the hole. (makable putt for pros)
And it made me dump my old trusty V steel 3 wood and bought same model as
his instead.

人家world longest competition是football的场地下，设2个bound，然后比谁击得远。
他们球击得高，落地后滚的比较少，给他们整个cart path在落点的附近，他们能往千码
里去了，我猜。
我们这Long hit是不少，340码的可能是最长的。比如上周2 skins game里打球的一个p
ro James, jimmy clay第一洞par 4, 成绩单显示是420码par 4, dogleg right, 穿过一
个大水坑。开球地方到果岭直线是340码吧，他从tee开球，球落在果岭后1st cut处。
他可能是我见到的比较长的，而且比较稳定tee shot的，不过他的大多数开球后只剩下
100码之内，有些可能是40-70码，都让他给浪费了。
看他打球，尤其打这些熟悉的场地，你会深深的发现，和你打的不是同一个game...
你们呀，呵呵。。需要多看看pro games呀，特别是现场看看。
