Inspired by Master GooG, I am starting to write reports in English. It also
saves me big time. I never get the hang of inputing Chinese characters
faster than 10 character per minute.
Today I have done some Carp fishing using a new method. The new method is
very similar to the crappie fishing method, except you use dough baits
rather than mini jigs. Not sure it shall work or not, as I have not used it
much in the past. Most of my previous catches are done using heavy set up,
15lb line up and with 4 oz sinkers with big pack baits.
Today, I was using the super light set up with 6lb Berkley Vanish line and a
very small bobber.
At first, I thought I may not catch anything today with the new method.
However, after about 30 minutes of waiting, I noticed that my bobber starts
to move. It does not go down yet, it goes side way but to a different
direction than what the wind is blowing. Hm... There must be something down
there.... So I waited, then the bobber started to go down suddently, I
instantly set the hook. A big carp surfaced. I think I took him by surpise,
otherwise, he would not go up. Then he saw me and realized what was going on
, and started to pulling lines in a frenzy. My drags sang constantly for
the first 2 minutes, and the fish went up and down the bank. I had to walk
along the bank to try to shorten the distance to the fish. This is unlike
any other type of fishing. No bass ever I caught can do this. So after 10
minutes of fight, I managed to get the fish in close, but as I was about to
grab him, he
was like getting another energy boost, and started to shake the huge head
violently and the line snaped right in front of me. Darn!
My line was in a complete tangle now. This has been due to the 10 minutes of
constant drag pulling that increased the line twist so much that I had to
cut at least 10 feet of line and retie.
After a few minutes of prepping, I am back into action. I hooked another big
one just a few minutes after my line is wet. This time I have used great
caution to make sure to tire the fish completely. I landed the monster, See
the first photo. I was so stoked! The long fighting has attracted another
fisherman and he helped me to take the photo that I hold the fish.
I caught another big one later. This one is a monster, he is the biggest
fish of the day, feels like 20 lb at least, and measured to be over 30
inches. You can see he has big shoulders in the second photo. After I landed
him, I got so tired that I went home. If I stayed, I would probably catch
more fish.
I never believed that Carp fishing can be so productive. It is like one fish
every 15 minutes when the bites are on! It is certainly as good as bass
fishing.

you can try to tie a swivel between your line and the hook, which may
eliminate
some line twist on your spinning reel.

Plain bread, the cheapest one, $0.99 a big bag here.
Use the white portion, discard the outside toast, and mix with a bit water
and honey.
