Wait its almost September...
This is the my first night trip on a kayak. Launched at 6:30 around low tide
, pedaled miles to checked out several spots with no result. I got
disappointed and start coming back in. I decided to do a last drift when I
am 20 yards from shore in 10 fow. BAAAAM fish on!! No it runs towards that
rock!! Steer it!! OK now its under the boat and turned to deeper water!
Whoops turned again and the drag is going out!
After a spirited fight I landed this 37'', 16 lb bass, who towed the kayak
around several times and foiled my 17lb test Berkeley sensation. My first
fish of the season and new PB so far. Didn't
linger long after that since it was already late.
It was a beautiful night. A little bit choopy at first but gets better later
on. The moon is almost full leaving a shining trail on the water. It is
also my first time to see "fire in the water". If I put my finger in the
water while the yak is moving, it will light up occasionally like a match.
So does my sinker, fishing line and the head of the eel. Absolutely
beautiful. (think life of Pi)
