The Washkewicz College of Engineering continues to experience growth and
expansion. Our student population has increased significantly over the last
few years, and we are expanding our College into a new building by December
2017. We now have the need for additional faculty.
Mechanical Engineering Positions Available:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University
invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in
the areas of (1) Design and (2) Energy. We are also seeking, two non-tenure
track Assistant College Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Practice
positions in the areas of (1) Mechanical Design and (2) Industrial Motion

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Positions:
1. Design Position Description: The responsibilities include teaching design
-oriented courses, at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including
senior capstone design, and the ability to develop innovative research
addressing fundamental challenges in mechanical components and systems
design.

2. Energy Position Description: The responsibilities include teaching fluid
and thermal courses at graduate and undergraduate levels. Desired areas of
research focus include fundamental challenges in energy and power systems,

Assistant College Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Practice Positions:
1. Industrial Motion Control Position Description: Successful candidates are
expected to demonstrate a passion for teaching. The candidate will be
expected to teach in the areas of industrial motion control (fluid power and
mechatronics) and related courses. The candidate will have the opportunity
to design a new teaching lab for motion and control. Expertise in hydraulics
, pneumatics and electromechanical technology would be invaluable.
