Is there anyone can share with me how do you feel about "if I said that I
donot know the answers during the talk".
Is this is better than "walking around" the questions?

发帖数: 164 | 2 I think it's ok to say you don't know, but it's not ok to show that you have
no passion to solve/answer the question.
What they really want to see is how you think about new problems. They won't
expect you to know everything, but they want to see that you are a smart
guy and know how to tackle a new/unexpected problem.
This rule applies to both industry and academia.
Just my two cents.

发帖数: 54 | 8 如果是research talk,可以说不知道准确答案，但应尽量提出一些你认为可能的解释，
以及你认为可以如何做实验来验证你的解释。有人提这种问题对你来说是一个好机会。
回答要表现出你对这个领域的深刻理解会加分不少。如果简单说不知道或随便说一些不
着边的话应付，绝对是red flag.
如果是teaching talk，简单说不知道肯定不行。可以说回头找答案，但一定要很真诚
的说。如果在感谢信里能跟上解释一下你找到的答案就更好了。
两个月前我们系一个来面试的，讲的很不错，但回答问题过程中轻浮的说了三回不知道
。在最后的评语中大多数人都提到这个事。结果可想而知。 |
