Why you are interested in our department?
1. You have very strong XXX research environment. And many PIs in your
departments are interested in XXX and these are my interest too. In addition
, I found you department has good collaboration with researchers in other
departments, campus and institutes. Moreover, you have a great XXXX research
center. I believe I can easily perform my research and find good
collaboration there. Thus, I think these excellent research and
collaborative environment will guarantee my success in the future.
2. Your department has good reputation in the field. Many researchers in
your department are very successful. I even know many of your researchers’
name and their works. This make me think you must have a very nice research
environment and support for a junior faculty.
3. You have very strong XXXXX program for graduate students. I believe
that I can easily find a good student under this program.
4. I also know that you have very strong core facilities that are very
important to my future research.
Based upon these points. I believe your department is one of my dream places
to do my research.
Why you are special? Why you will fit into this position?
1. I am an XXXX researcher, my research topics of how XXX regulate XXX
functions will make me fit into this position. And I believe this is also
one of your departmental interested topics.
2. I am an open-minded collaborator. I have very good experiences in
collaborating with many researchers in my current institute and the previous
institutes. I believe I can have a good collaboration with many researchers
in your department. Like Dr. XXXXX; Dr. XXXX. Dr. XXXXXX.
3. I have unique expertise, like XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXX that can
enhance the existing strength of your department. And I am very happy to
collaborate with any people in the department who may need my expertise.
4. I have experiences on mentoring students. So far, I mentored XX post-
graduate technicians and couple undergraduates. Some of them are now medical
students in the college of medicine here.
5. I am a hard working person. I always work hard to make my project
works and make me productive. I also work hard to get a grant support.

6. I am also interested in doing scientific service. I am on the
editorial board for couple journals and I am an active reviewers for more

发帖数: 2958 | 3 根据我做sc的经验，对方期待的是你能正常流利的说英语，能听懂你的表达。不希望你
照二楼的回答念稿子，网上找来段子背稿子。sc有本地人的话你一开口就能听出来。一
个问题就挂了。
建议是准备一个提纲，组织一下。大体想想自己大概要说什么。别到时候一激动，忘记
怎么说。允许少量停顿，磕巴。千万杜绝背得滚瓜烂熟。
总的原则就是表达，你特别想来这个系，包括硬件，软件，你的研究多么match，多么
fit。理想的情况是，你一开口，对方都不用问，大部分问题的答案都包括了。
