2nd, your research has huge potential to collaborate with existing faculty
and bring in funding.
if it is a research univ, i would read this question as the additional
opportunity and money you can bring with you to the dept.

1. I am a XXX researcher, my research topics of how XXX regulate XXXX
will make me fit into this position. And I believe this is also one of your
departmental interested topics.
2. I am an open-minded collaborator. I have very good experiences in
collaborating with many researchers in my current institute and previous
institutes. I believe I can have a good collaboration with many researchers
in your department.
3. I have unique expertise, like XXX, XXX, XXX and XXX that can enhance
the existing strength of your department. I will be very happy to help
people if they want to test XXX functions using my expertise. I think I have
the ability to help and I will be very happy to help.
4. On the other hand, I may also need some other expertise for my study,
such as XXX and XXX. I found your department have very strong background in
multiple expertise. These techniques will be very helpful for my future
research.
5. I have experiences on mentoring students. So far, I mentored 4
technicians and couple undergraduates.
6. I am a hard working person. I always work hard to make my project
works and make me productive. I also work hard to get a grant support.
7. I am also interested in doing scientific service. I am on the
editorial board for couple journals and I am an active reviewers for more
