If teaching load is 2+3, or more, it is not considered as a research school
. It is commonly called blended or balanced institution. If teaching load
is 3+4 or more, it is considered as pure teaching school.

，拿到tenure的仍然做科研的每年6门，拿到tenure的不做科研的每年8门。

tenured, if you need/want more time to do research.
Six courses are too many, no time to do research unless you work extremely
hard...

发帖数: 132 | 7 我们也是对research要求最主要。我感觉是，目前所有的学校都注重排名，因而注重
research，所以几乎所有的学校（包括我们学校）都自称自己是research university
，所以就名正言顺要求faculty的科研产出，而实际上，在教学任务、科研环境等方面
提供的东西非常少。

In my ph.d alma mater, teaching load is 1+0. Most tenured or tenure-track
members only teach graduate level classes with few students. The money-
making undergraduate classes with hundreds of kids are the business of
lecturers.

grant requirements.
STEM fields tend to have less teaching load because their universal emphasis
on grants.

老李的学生质量一定高，这是不容置疑的。质疑的是，为啥让这么样的大牛教2+2，太
没天理了。这岂不是鞭打快牛？
这些领导也太差劲了。
我们以前2+2， 现在要改2+3，还他妈舔着脸说自己是研究型大学，问我们要基金和文
章。排名300多的野鸡，楞要当自个是孔雀凤凰。
这年头教授这碗饭不好混啊。
