it doesn't help you tenure. mostly a waste of time in terms of your main
research
now visitor levels in china is higher and higher. An AP is really nobody.
Noone cares much about you unless you really have sth hot in hand
now, there are no programs for APs. It won't even pay you well
in american scientists eyes (they now understand this well), you seem like a
person eager to make quick money and are more interested in enjoying (lewd)
life |

(I did this also when I was a phd student)
I don't see a problem
Many major conferences in my area are held in China, many of my colleagues (
white) are going to China every year
I also enjoy collaborating with professors in China |
