at a university. I got to know today that the search committee has not met
for the position yet and they have not selected applicants for interview yet
. I'd like to know how many applicants will usually be selected for the
interview.

the candidates selected.

You may check their dept website for any clue on seminar/talk. But most
times this is not open to the public.
It's the best if you have connection with a graduate student in the dept,
since the info on talks is usually emailed to the students in due course. |
