You don't call me Gulls.
don't in the sentence above means '不要'.
but how to express the negative meaning of present tense?
for example, 你没有称呼我大王. | k********e 发帖数: 448 | 2 "You don't call me Gulls." ==>
Gulls, 你不给我打电话。 | G***G 发帖数: 16778 | 3 no, you misunderstand it.

The problem is, it's NOT present tense. 你没有称呼我大王. implies that it
has already happened (or in this case, DIDN'T happen)
So, to answer - just say: "you didn't call me king/ruler/dictator/big wong" | G***G 发帖数: 16778 | 5 got it. you are absolutely right.
how to translate the meaning
昨天我对他说,不要做作业. (不允许用直接引语来翻译)
昨天没有做作业 (yesterday you didn't do homework)
wong"

I told him yesterday not to do his homework.
The "improper" (but still commonly used) version would be: I told him
yesterday to not do his homework. This is not as proper as it splits the
infinitive "to do".
Either way, you will get your point across.
"昨天没有做作业"
Yesterday (I) didn't do (my) homework
Yesterday (you) didn't do (your) homework... etc.
