Speaking and writing are active learning methods. In China, few people have
the capability to verify your speaking. We can memorize many words and
grammar. Unfortunately, when it comes to oral communication with an English-
speaking person, what comes out of our mouth makes little sense.
As being previously mentioned, Chinese characters are abstraction from
pictures. In contrast, English words represent the sound. As a consequence,

from speaking.
I think most Chinese speak English by translating from Chinese first, either
consciously or unconsciously.
How to practise in order to avoid that? just pronouce more words and read
more articles? |
f*******a 发帖数: 80 | 3 Translating from Chinese to English consciously is difficult. Translating
unconsciously is even more.
Learning English is a slow process, taking time to accumulate and growing
one's sense. Speaking and reading more is definite.
A practice I follow is to think in English, summarizing today's activity
before going to sleep. It will do magic in the long run. |

learn to speak like native is to have a native speaker in your daily life.
Otherwise, the learning process could be very boring and needs much much
more effort in it.

different path on learning English. I can only speak about those who have
learned English through high school and would like to further sharpening
their skill.
Agree. If you have a friend/colleague being a native speaker, having a
conversation over a lunch regularly will benefit. |
