和clearwire达成协议可以互相漫游。
另外wimax的air card是中兴的，wimax terminal/modem是一家台湾公司的，基站，
switch等等主要由samsung, moto, nokia瓜分，另外cisco也有份，华为中兴的也在考
虑之列，不过nortel居然没有份额。这主推wimax的provider也就sprint和clearwire两
家，nortel也豪赌wimax，这下惨了 |

Wimax成功，将带动很大一块产业。最大的受益人会是sprint,clearwire和Intel。
sprint年底要开通三个城市的Wimax，不知道会怎么样。民工到时别忘了发布一些第一

Wimax最适合的场合还是人口比较稀疏、基础设施受限的地区吧。

发帖数: 85 | 4 Wimax和Comcast的区别是它是无线的。想一想以后smart phone用Wimax上网，会比现在
的连接速度快很多。网速解决了，很多无线应用也就可以实施了。

over wimax正在日程上，这个要是解决了还真的挺诱人，搬家都不用换service了

The max throughput of wimax per cell site is just 70Mbps. Now it is
considered as 3rd pipe after teleco and cableco. But its physical limition
is a big issue to me. Now DSL/Cable could provide at 6mbps, the coming VZ's
FIOS is at 100mbps, and new DOCSIS 3.0 provides similar bandwidth. So wimax
is not a good fit for heavy bandwidth applicaiton like iptv or vod.
there is 2-3 articles on telephony margazine on Clearwire and Sprint's Wimax
projects. very interesting.

Wimax
it is probably not accurate to say 70Mbps per site, it is 75Mbps per 20mhz
channel. Depending on the complex cell and channel planning, link budgeting
as well as the dynamic QoS settings, it is said feasible to provide 2Mbps or
a bit above services to mobile end user. Sprint owns multiple channel
slots in the 4G proper bands, that is very crucial to accommodate more user
at higher bandwidth (of coz...)
