的本科（至少在那几家大的事如此）。当然例外还是有的。 |

国内大学毕业的看来机会比较少了
小公司可能吗?
不过大公司做的都是比较大的中国公司的业务吧，
小公司上市之类应该还是小投行的业务吧

departments? Seems that both Chinese (or even non-whites in general) are on
the bottom of the rank...thanks |

发帖数: 357 | 5 From what I saw, there were some Asians in the higher ranks, but not many,
but I thought this was due to the fact that there weren't that many Chinese
to start with. If 1 out of 4 incomers is Chinese, then eventually these new
comers will become higher rank bankers, just a matter of time.

jobs as well. Thanks for the good wishes. I am not quite sure what the
attrition rate is exactly from analyst to MD or associate to MD, so can't
give you an exact number there. Are you thinking about IBD jobs?

发帖数: 357 | 9 谢谢你啊。希望可以借你吉言。据我了解，经济博士刚出道的去投行可以考虑quant，
但是好像并不占太大优势。也可以考虑strategy或者是风险方面。但是如果相当投行的
经济师什么的，刚出道的好像可能不大，怎么得也应该有个五六年的经验才行。还有就
是可以考虑去投行的研究组（research).

read the CV of everyone on job market this year). Cant think of anyone who
is in a better position of landing such a job than you. I have no intention
of going into IB, simply because as an asian without a extremely strong
social network in finance (none of my parents deal with finance related
areas), I don't see myself having a comparative advantage in the job either
in US or in China. Plus, I dont want to deal with the workload.
Do you know how hard it is to get an A in phd ECON 202 at stanford. I am
taking it right now and heard rumors that the grading is harsh. Do you
remember how hard it is to get an A in that class (like top 20% of the class
? 30%? etc) Thanks sooo much. |

发帖数: 357 | 11 I'm actually not so sure. Since for Econ PhD students at Stanford, the final
grade for that sequence won't be entered until after the comp, and your
comp grade will become your course grade. For non Econ PhD students, many
end up taking 202N, is that what you are taking? There are a few GSB people
and undergrads taking 202 every year but won't take the comp, and I have no
idea how their grade will be determined. Feel free to e-mail me in the
