old. What I found out is a little bit surprise for me, i.e., before
majoring in physics in 中央大学, he actually tried several times to
get into 交大电机系 unsuccessfully. What amazed me is even sixty years
passed, this little feature of our society has not changed, i.e., except
for a very few talented who chose math and physics over EE&CS, in almost
all top schools of China, EE&CS is harder to get into than math and
physics for general students. And another moral of this little story is:
people are smart and they know where the money is, so the whining puppies
at Biological Board should not worry too much about the effects of 饶毅
and 施一公's public propaganda speech by which they want to persuade
young high school students to major in bio-related research field. | g******u 发帖数: 3060 | 2 中央大学 was of lower class than 交大.
back then FUDAN was nothing, third tier. It got better when the Party took
over.
in 1920-40s, the best college in Shanghai was St. John's, tons of NIUREN. |
