9-11 gave image processing, especially pattern recognition, a lot more
opportunities, but still not the main stream of EE industry.
Image processing, in general, need loads of compuation powers than today's
technology could offer. It adds several dimensions of complexity compared to
communication applications. In my opinion, image processing is not well
established to offer end customers a sound product (digital cameras does
not count:->). The future of image processing is tomorrow, but not tod | b****e
