Coming back from SQL PASS 2014 Summit, I really enjoyed the summit to meet
so many new and old friens and I do feel proud to be a member in this
community. Also, your feedback and suggestion always motivate us to build a
better community to serve back to you and many other people.
For the year of 2014, we have had 9 times monthly meeting and technical
sharing sessions so far.(Will have 1 or 2 in the remaining months) and Book
Club Activity was kicked off starting from Sep with the book "Hadoop
Definitive Guide". Thanks for all speakers' contribution and efforts. If you

For the coming year 2015, the rough plan has been worked out as listed below.
1, Monthly meeting and free technical session will continue to hold every
month. Meanwhile, this is a stage to take something and to contribute back
to the community. If you are interested to be a speaker, this is a good
oppertunity for you. Shoot me an email. We have resources to help you out
and make this happen together.
2, Book Club
Hadoop Activity will be closed in the following two months(still having 2
acitivies). And the next one is going to be held next wednesday. For details

After this hadoop book, I will pick a book for "Spark" to read. If this is
something you are interested, keep tune.
3, "Industrial-Know-How" Free Sessions
Will arrange about 5~6 times sessions to share some insights in a certain
industrials. The speakers come from different industrials and will introduce
how technologies(SQL, SQL BI and Bid data) have been implemented in their
business. These industrials include Banking, Aviation, Insurance, Healthcare
, Manufacture, Financing and Pharmaceutical. Through these knowledge sharing
, hope it can bring more understandings for you(the first time job seeker)
or the ones who consider next move and also values for others.
4, Training "From Zero to Hero" to raise fund for this community
It has been struggled for a while as I do hope this community is pure enough
to contribute free training and educational services to the professional
Chinese community--that is why #1, #2 and #3 are still committed for the
coming year.
Meanwhile, in and outside of this group, many emailed to me or called to me
to suggest we can launch a charged services for high quality training.(was
told in this market, many, who are looking for jobs or changing their career
path, failed to find a high-quality training with a reasonable price.)
After discussing with founders of this group, for considering to keep this
community growing in a healthy shape, the coming year we will provide a
pilot training called "From Zero to Hero", which usually holds 5 times
training(3 hours a time) and 3 times practice and interactive Q&A. One
series topic training(8 times) charge $150 totally. The money will be only
used for this community. 50% will be awarded for the instructor, who leads
the training. (If the instructor is myself, I will contribute my part to our
community) The remaining money will be used to setup some incetive programs
including gift cards for monthly tech session speakers, free books for
active attendees and leasing a windows azure for all members to practise
cloud environment and so on.
The first training "From Zero to Hero" probably will be "SQL Server
Reporting Service". If you are interested to be the leading instructor, very
welcome. If you or your friends are interested in attending this course,
