Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli gave his last public recital, an all-Debussy
program, on 7 May 1993 at the Musikhalle in Hamburg. He died in Lugano two
years later, in June, and was buried in the small cemetery in Pura, on the
hillside, with a view of the lake. Since the day of his funeral, there have
