I think Du Pre died in mid of 1980s,and now Barenboeim has
his second wife.
Maybe you are old enough to see her live performance.
For me,Ma Yo Yo's performance is not so profound as required
by Bach.
Bach should be something profound plus
passionate.Profoundity can keeps you feeling longer and
understanding deeper.Superficial passion can only bring
excitement.
I like Rostropovich 's interpretation.I think,for the
players of Ma's generation,Maisky is a real wonder.His
