Quote:
"What makes Chinese expats suffer most, however, is the lack of authentic
Chinese food.
"But because Chinese managers often view overseas postings as a hardship,
few are willing to stay more than one or two years – too short to get
serious work done or to help the company build a body of knowledge and
experience in those markets.
My comment:
(a) I do not know other Taiwanese, for I have known few after coming to US.
I enjoy foods in US, and always think food in Taiwan is too salty, to oily,
not wholesome.
(b) About this report in print (as opposed to online):
(i) the side bar is titled "Portrait of a Chinese expatriate executive" (
rather than "Working overseas" in the online vrsion); and
(ii) there is a panel of figures:
"$900m
Amount invested by Chinese companies overseas in 1990 |
