seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our lab
immediately.
Our research interests focus on applying solution NMR techniques to
understand the functional roles of protein conformational dynamics in the
deubiquitinase family. We’re especially interested in deubiquitinases that
are involved in signaling pathways implicated in cancer and autoimmune
diseases. To accomplish our research goals, we complement solution NMR
spectroscopy with other biophysical and biochemical techniques, such as
enzymatic assays, fluorescence spectroscopy, isothermal titration
calorimetry, and X-ray crystallography. We have regular access to several
NMR spectrometers on campus, ranging from 500 MHz to 800 MHz. The 600 MHz
and 700 MHz spectrometers are equipped with cryoprobes. Other instruments
for biophysical characterization are available in the biophysics core
facility located in the medical school.
Successful candidates should possess a Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related
field at the start date. Prior experience in solution or solid-state NMR
spectroscopy and preparation of protein NMR samples is required. Additional
experiences in NMR method development, molecular dynamics simulations and X-
ray crystallography are highly desirable.
