I saw your resume on Monster and think you are a good match to the position
I am seeking to fill of Polymerization Applications Scientist. The job is
in Decatur , Alabama , with a progressive chemical company. I am not
certain of your present circumstances, but I have included a brief job
description for you review:
The Polymerization and Applications Scientist is the R&D expert in product
and process development responsible for bringing new technologies from
concept stage through commercial production. The job requires close
coordination with R&D and Technical members in the US and Japan locations to
create products that meet targeted performance and application needs and
facilitate the transfer of process knowledge and requirements between the
areas of R&D, Production and Technical Service. The Polymerization Scientist
will be the technical expert from raw material, to polymerization, to
product EH&S issues. The position reports to the Technical Service Manager
and may require occasional travel, however most all work will be in our
Decatur laboratories.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop new products to meet targeted performance goals and bring them
forward to commercialization.
2. Define customer application and product performance requirements through
close team communication with Technical Service members and sharing of
development ideas.
3. Perform lab polymerization studies to develop forward new and improved
products with performance targets to grow new business opportunities.
Evaluate and analyze sample(s) maintaining all required documents.
4. Provide development materials for lab application testing and prototype
development for customer input and enabling our value assessment for new
business. Conduct experiments, analysis, and investigations to confirm
target and customer performance match.
5. Support our process technology by documenting polymerization sequences
complete with data, analysis and drawings (Ex: ChemDraw). Communicate and
transfer information across areas of R&D, Production and TS both here and in
Japan .
Pay is “targeted” at $80k, but can obviously go higher for the right
