Lead is HA. Apparently 6D is too high. You will need CKT on side, and you
still need to figure out a way to play spade. | b***y 发帖数: 2804 | 2 This is a simple hand, as you don't have many choices. :)
Ruff in dummy, spade to SA, trump to dummy, CQ... clear club then spade out.

to cash SA earlier before they realize to unblock.
But you ignore S8 and s9 totally?
out.

| b***y 发帖数: 2804 | 4 S8 and S9 are useless. Maybe they prevent LHO from unblocking from KT or QT.
Another legitimate line is to clear clubs then play low spade from hand,
hoping LHO has both SKQ. But first, he may be leading SK with that holding;
second, that will leave RHO with almost nothing (but RHO cuebid 4D).

| i****e 发帖数: 642 | 5 The actual holding is LHO with KQx.
East bid 4D with CKTx, HKJxxxx.
To play small will also work if LHO has ST while RHO has SKQ. But this
involves bizarre guess for declarer when LHO plays small: you need to play 9
if LHO has T, and play J if LHO has KQ (expert may follow small from KQx).
Which way is better in percentage? At the table, declarer played SA then
small, but he did not cash SA earlier which should be a minor mistake.
QT.

| b***y 发帖数: 2804 | 6 4D bid was strange anyway. Unless with shape such as 2-6-0-5, RHO just has
too many losers to make slam try when partner could only make a simple 1-
level overcall.
It's also not very likely for RHO to have both SKQ -- that would mean LHO
has no honor outside of hearts, which that hand LHO might have overcalled 2H.
Sometimes it is useful to know how reliable the opposing bids are.
